Simphony EMC Installation Guide

Applies To: Marriott GPOS / First Response Team
Purpose: Install the Simphony EMC (Enterprise Management Console) client for user and menu management.


PART 1: DOWNLOAD THE INSTALLER

1. Determine your data center (IAD or FRA) by referencing the Simphony Cloud Hotel List.
2. Download the appropriate installer:

IAD Data Center: https://marrstar.box.com/s/d3nsio6ulthoijx9igxyj1zzd85mgaey

FRA Data Center: https://marrstar.box.com/s/xzuexlcor0033qs5cl95304ifde3a3aj

3. Run the installer (EMCSetup.exe):

Marriott PC: Requires admin credentials (Elevate account). Call Service Desk at 240-632-6000 → Option 4 → 1 → 2

Franchisee PC: Contact your local IT admin.

Personal PC: Use your system’s local admin credentials.


PART 2: INSTALLATION PROCESS

4. Launch the setup wizard and click Next.
5. Confirm the install path:

C:\Program Files\Oracle Hospitality\EMCClient 

6. Click Next again to proceed.
7. Click Install to begin installation.
8. Wait for completion, then click Finish.
9. Verify that the Simphony EMC icon is created on the desktop.
10. Double-click the icon to launch the EMC splash screen.


PART 3: INITIAL LOGIN

11. On first launch, enter the correct server address:

IAD: miemc.simphony.net

FRA: stwdtrans.microsdc.com
Then enter your login credentials.

❗ Note: The “Can’t Sign In” link does not function for password resets.

12. If you forgot your password, use the GPOS Self Service Password Reset Portal.
13. For other access issues, submit a ServiceNow Incident to GPOS Support.


PART 4: POST-INSTALL BEHAVIOR

14. If you see a message that EMC was updated to a new version:

Click the X to close

Reopen EMC

Repeat until you are successfully logged in

15. If a pop-up warns about EMC Database Credentials compliance, click OK.
16. You should now see the EMC Home screen.


PART 5: FIXING DISPLAY ISSUES (High-Res Screens)

17. Exit EMC if open.
18. Navigate to the EMC install location. Typical paths include:

arduino
C:\Program Files\Oracle Hospitality\EMCClient\EMC.exe   C:\Program Files\Micros EMC Client\EMC Client\EMC.exe.config   C:\Users\[username]\Documents\EMC Client\EMC.exe.config

19. Right-click EMC.exe and select Properties.
20. Go to the Compatibility tab.
21. Click Change high DPI settings.

Check the box: Override high DPI scaling behavior

Select System from the dropdown

Click OK, then Apply, then OK again

22. Relaunch EMC using the desktop shortcut.
